A soldier brings a dog back home with him from overseas to his wife and kid. He dies a few years later and the widow gets super attached to the dog over the next couple of years. Then there is s big thunderstorm that knocks down the fence and the scared dog gets out in the storm. A nice trucker picks the dog up and drops it at a shelter an hour away. A widowed Dad adopts the dog for his sad daughter and she falls in love with it. The first lady eventually tracks the dog down to this single Dad and they of course both want the dog.
