Grauman Theater Footprint
Shown here is the actual cement slab in which Douglas Fairbanks placed his footprints.
"The king of Hollywood", Douglas Fairbanks Sr. (1883-1939) made his name in Hollywood history in swashbuckling silent roles such a Robin Hood and the Mask of Zorro. He was a co-founder of United Artists film studio, and in May 1929, he became the first host of the Academy Awards!

First Grauman's Chinese Theatre Footprints
Along with Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. and Sid Grauman, Pickford helped establish the tradition of setting one's footprints in cement infront of the Chinese Theater.

During the ceremony, Sid Grauman also added his prints to the cement blocks in front of his spectacular Chinese theater.
- Believe It or Not!, the idea for the prints in wet cement is believed to have come from Mary Pickford accidentally stepping on wet cement on her way to see the theater.
