Gale's Great Hits

There are those who say that hit records are half-accident, half-miracle. And it may be true. But when one singer keeps on having this same kind of accident-miracle, it makes you wonder if there isn't something more to it.

In the case of Gale Storm there's considerably more. Not only has she racked up an impressive number of hits but she has done it during a period when, by one of those strange phenomena of the entertainment business, girl singers have generally had a difficult time in record popularity polls.

Entering the record field a couple of years ago (as one of Dot's first artists) Gale zoomed past her long-established female competitors and became as big a name on records as she has been on TV with her very successful "My Little Margie" and "Oh! There's another thing, too - Gale Storm herself. She is daughter, sister, sweetheart or side-kick to everyone who's ever seen her. She is pretty and charming and vital in the uncomplicated way that endures long after an ordinary glamor-doll veneer has worn thin. And her sincerity of approach comes through, shining and delighting, on the TV screen or on the phonograph record.

The fact is that people like Gale Storm, like her singing. This simple truth is, after all, the explanation of the most phenomenal feminine phenomenon to hit the record business in recent years. There's that word again - "hit". Seems to be just another word for Gale Storm.
