Ventura County Wildfire Collaborative:

Through regional collaboration, the VCWC will work to coordinate resources, advise local and state agencies, work with the community, and secure funding to help prevent and recover from wildfires.

The Collaborative MissionTo establish a countywide, collaborative approach to design, implement and maintain a holistic, wildfire resiliency strategy that builds individual, local and regional capacities to better prepare for, prevent, mitigate, respond to, and recover from potential wildfire threats for Ventura County neighborhoods and communities located in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI), now and into the future."

Goals

  1. Update the Ventura County Community Wildfire Protection Plan
  2. Facilitate a holistic wildfire outreach campaign across the County of Ventura, targeting vulnerable communities through wildfire town halls.
  3. Create a County-wide home hardening resiliency program
  4. Create a fine-scale hazard, risk, and vulnerability mapping and online dashboard
  5. Facilitate a wildfire vulnerability and evacuation assessment
  6. Host the first California Wildfire Summit to promote collaboration and important information sharing across the State
