Asparagus
Wash the Asparagus. Peel several cloves of garlic. Medium/ medium-low . Extra virgin olive oil and butter in the pan. Mix the garlic with the oil and butter. Toss in the asparagus. Pads of butter on top of the asparagus. Add salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Toss the asparagus so all the stalks get a turn making contact with the pan (salt, pepper, lemon as you go). Turn off the heat when the asparagus has reached its brightest color and starts to darken. Tossing another couple minutes.

PERFECT 10!:

Asparagus
Garlic, Butter, and Olive Oil tossed with Asparagus in a pan. Add salt and pepper and lemon juice.

  1. Wash the Asparagus let dry wrapped in a towel
  2. Peel several cloves of garlic (then peel several more...)
  3. Turn up the heat! Medium/ medium-low
  4. Extra virgin olive oil and butter in the pan
  5. Toss in the garlic and mix it with the oil and butter
  6. Toss in the asparagus
  7. Add pads of butter on top of the asparagus
  8. Salt, pepper, and lemon juice to taste
  9. Toss/rotate the asparagus and garlic (adding salt, pepper, lemon, and butter to taste as you go) so all those little stalks get a turn making contact with the pan
  10. I usually turn off the heat when the asparagus has reached its brightest color and starts to darken, then keep tossing for another couple minutes
  11. Enjoy!

Asparagus is hardest at the wide end and softer on the tips so it is necessary to trim a little off the bottom of them to make cooking easier.

ASPARAGUSThere is a tip out there saying that you should snap one in half to find the best spot to trim but that is all BS.

Line the stalks all up and just trim and inch or so off the bottom; trim enough so that the stalks will fit into your pan.
