NL Batting Champion / Silver Bat Award
At the end of the regular season whoever has the Highest Batting Average in the entire National League. It shows who got a hit the most often. They award two per season, one to the American League and one to the National League. It was started in 1949 and called the Bud Hillerich Award. In 2016 they started calling it the Tony Gwynn Award for the NL and the Rod Carew Award for the AL. Tony Gwynn won eight of them.

Trea Turner was acquired by the Dodgers in advance of MLB's trade deadline from Washington on July 30, 2021. He went on to hit .338 for the Dodgers in 52 games, which set his season-ending average at a Major-League leading .328. He became the first Dodger to win a National League batting title and lead the league in steals since Jackie Robinson in 1949.
